Twenty-five years have passed since that fateful day in New York City. Americans were told lies to justify “Forever War,” curtailment of civil liberties, and vilification and murder of global Muslims. “Our friends, the Saudis,” were responsible for the ideology of al-Qaida; “our friends, the Israelis,” were responsible for refusing to warn of the attacks so they could hijack an American tragedy. “Our enemies, the Iranians,” were the ones who allied with US.
11 September 2001
On 9/11, I was walking my German Shepherd in Central Park, along the Upper West Side where we lived. He was playing off leash. Since I was not working that Tuesday, I remained until 0900, after which dogs had to be leashed (NYC Parks Commissioner, Henry Stern, was a dog hater; he wanted to ban dogs from CP, but he’s dead and dogs rule the Park). At 08:58, I glimpsed through elm trees and foliage a convoy of FDNY fire trucks—horns blaring, sirens wailing, lights flashing—racing southwards along West Road. I had never seen fire trucks traversing CP.
I later learned that they were responding to the strike on the North Tower (1 WTC) at 08:46 AM by American Airlines AA11. Minutes later, a jumbo jet (later identified as United Airlines flight UA175), banked and flew low, west of CP. It struck the South Tower (2 WTC) at 09:03 AM.
I met Fr. Mychal Judge, Franciscan friar, parish priest, and FDNY Chaplain in 1995. He insisted on being beside “his” firefighters at the WTC, and died when WTC 1 collapsed. The New York City Coroner lists Mychal as “Victim #1” on 9/11. Mychal could be acerbic, but was kind and caring. He is missed by those of us who had the honor of knowing him.
That evening, my neighbors and I gathered on the stoop of our UWS brownstone. We sipped soft drinks, chatted, and came together as neighbors and New Yorkers—a rare New York moment. We were not to know that this unity was being undermined by the usual suspects.
As I wrote in an essay published by The Cradle on 13 May 2025,
Donald Rumsfeld and his deputy, Paul Wolfowitz, initiated internal discussions on targeting Iraq…On 11 September, the very same day of the terror attack—and despite the fact that Washington immediately identified Afghanistan-based Al-Qaeda leaders as the culprits—CIA director George Tenet authorized the creation of the Iraq Operations Group (IOG), led by covert ops veterans Luis Rueda and John Maguire…Within 24 hours, the two were drafting a blueprint for the destabilization of Iraq.
War on Terror
American were fed packs of lies after 9/11. Knocking off the Taliban was necessary, but all else—GWOT, torture, rendition, black sites, Abu Ghraib, Guantánamo, nation-building in Afghanistan, Iraq War, Syria, Yemen, Iran, and more—were unnecessary. These actions served only to further the agendas of American imperialists and the State of Israel.
On 9/11, US national debt was $5.77 trillion. Today, it’s >$40 trillion. The US budget was $1.9 trillion; now it’s $5 trillion. We had a budget surplus of $128 billion; we have a budget deficit of $1.837 trillion—with annual interest payments of $1.247 trillion.

The Saudis
The podcast, “Perspectives: Iran Past and Present,” published an anniversary special, “25 Years After 9/11: The Saudi-Wahhabi Doctrine Behind the Taliban and al-Qaeda.” Please listen.
This anniversary special examines how Saudi Wahhabism provided the ideological foundation for the Taliban and al-Qaeda. The 22 minute episode traces extremist Islamist interpretations of the Quranic verse that exhorts believers to “command right and forbid wrong” (al-amr bi-ma’ruf wa nahi ‘an al-munkar), from their roots in the 18th-century Arabian Peninsula, to Saudi-funded madrasas along the Afghan-Pakistan border.
The Israelis
Nearly three years after the “al-Aqsa Flood,” little needs saying about the Only Democracy in the Middle East®. Evidence that the wars against Iraq and Iran were initiated by and for the benefit of Israel is indisputable. Islamophobia was propagated to vilify Muslims and to glorify Zionists: “Israelis are the only friends America has in the Middle East. There is no difference between Hamas, Hizballah, al-Qaeda, Taliban, etc. Every Muslim is a terrorist.”
The story of the five “Dancing Israelis” is known. It’s not a “conspiracy theory” as claimed by the usual suspects. In brief, Israeli operatives were spotted filming the attacks on the WTC from a rooftop in New Jersey—and celebrating. A lady called the FBI; the Mossad agents were arrested, but returned to Israel. The redacted FBI file is available at the Internet Archive. Despite the FBI’s attempt to cover up for Tel Aviv, it is patently clear from the hundreds of pages that “our friends, the Israelis” knew in advance about 9/11 but allowed it to happen.
This video offers official statements with respect to Israel’s extensive intelligence operations in the United States before and during 9/11. I would not be surprised if Mossad and al-Qaida had cooperated ahead of 9/11. Despite Usama bin Laden’s anti-Israel rhetoric, he never attacked Israel. In the past 25 years, AQ has not attacked Israel. AQ-Syria’s chief, al-Jawlani, who is now the president of Syria, is allied with Netanyahu.
The Iranians
Iranians did not celebrate as Israelis did, or crow as Netanyahu did, that 9/11 was “very good” for the country. Iranians mourned with Americans.
Iranians did more than light candles and shed tears. They gave “unconditional” support to the United States. We have all heard the sanitized CIA account of US Special Forces (SOF), CIA, and Afghan Mujahidin liberating Afghanistan. However, this would not have been possible without Tehran’s political, diplomatic, and military support. Furthermore, IRGC Quds Force (SOF) fought alongside US SOF and British SAS to liberate western Afghanistan and the city of Herat.

Last Word
Iranians are cleaning house. Base after American base is being destroyed. Expulsion of the US from the Middle East is a godsend for Americans. We must return to “Fortress America,” pull up the drawbridge, and focus on nation-building at home.
The Saudis are receiving their comeuppance at the hands of Iran and Yemen. I shall write later about how the Saudi war on Yemen has failed: Ansarallah has liberated most of the west coast of Yemen. It is close to cementing control of the southern Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab. This is a huge defeat for KSA, USA, UK, and Israel.
Events of the past 25 years prove that Israel is the biggest threat to US National Security. Israel has cost the US trillions of dollars and lost domestic opportunities (universal healthcare, subsidized education costs, and extensive infrastructure developments); thousands of US lives, and millions of Muslim lives.
The average American—especially the boomer generation—is too propagandized to appreciate this, but an isolated Israel, forced to confront Iran alone, is the best outcome for the United States.
