Conservatives for Khamenei

Influential American conservatives are vociferously opposing war with Iran, and expressing their anger towards Israel. If Netanyahu succeeds in dragging the U.S. into war with Iran, the political and military consequences for Israel will be catastrophic.

Commentary

The title, obviously, is in jest. I say little here other than to post videos and tweets by conservatives. Tucker Carlson’s tweet of 5 June 2025, for example, is accurate, and reflects mainstream conservative views that Israel hoodwinked the U.S. into the Iraq War. He is correct that Israel is not anxious about Iran’s nuclear program, but is seeking regime change in Iran, which is what I have argued. Tucker’s tweet, and a droll but accurate rendering by Grok of his tweet, are below. Scott Horton is a popular radio talk show host. His arguments against the Iran War are also reflective of libertarian and conservative opposition to war. Note how Meir Javedanfar shakes his head to refute Horton’s accurate claim that the Iraq War was a war for Israel. Javedanfar, an Iranian Jew, emigrated to Israel. He is popular with the Iran-hating crowd in Iranian Studies in the UK and US; and the “#IraniansStandWithIsrael” and “#KingRezaShahPahvali” gangs (the subsets overlap).

Conclusions

If Israel does succeed in dragging the U.S. into war with Iran, conservative hostility towards Israel will explode. As Tucker notes, “a war with Iran would amount to a profound betrayal of his [Trump’s] voters. It would end his presidency.” It will also lead to civil strife in the U.S. and an increase in anti-semitism. But American-Israeli agitators like Mark Levin, ADL, and AIPAC do not care about these consequences. They are hell-bent on igniting the Iran War.
