Reproduced below with an update to my tweet (X: @S_Mahendrarajah) from 12 April 2024 on how IRGC is generating ‘chatter’ to deceive the enemy’s (U.S. and Israel) electronic and human intelligence systems during IRGC’s preparations for the 14 April attack on Israel.
Media and social media are buzzing about ‘imminent’ strikes by Iran, with commentators claiming that Iran will not strike because it has ‘been trying to avoid [war] for decades.’ Why has Iran avoided confrontation with Israel and United States for ‘decades’? Because IRGC was preparing for an inevitable conflict and needed time to develop its arsenal.
Hamas has demonstrated superior grasp of the importance of winning the ‘information battlespace’ by publicizing battlefield successes. Their ‘info wars’ build on techniques devised by Iraqi insurgents and al-Qaida in Iraq (AQI)—techniques that migrated to the Afghan battlefield.
Assessment by an Israeli defense analyst on Israel’s (1) diplomatic disaster and relations with allies; (2) internal political crises; (3) parlous military situation; and (4) shambolic state of the economy. All this before Israel possibly enters into a war with Iran consequent to the attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus
Israel, like a nasty and impetuous schoolboy who committed a serious offense, fears retribution as he sits trembling outside the headmaster’s office. He knows that he will be punished for his wickedness, but he knows not the form of the headmaster’s wrath. So, he sweats and shakes in terror.
The attackers in Moscow and Kirman were from Tajikistan. ISIS-K seeks to topple Tajikistan’s government, yet ISIS-K have not conducted major attacks in Tajikistan. Just one incident in 2022: seven rockets fired by ISIS-K from Afghanistan into Tajikistan that ‘struck Tajik military facilities.’ Major attacks perpetrated by Tajik nationals allegedly with ISIS-K have been against enemies of the U.S. and/or Israel: Russia and Iran.
Pre-modern cities of the Islamic World often had a perimeter wall to protect the city’s suburbs from predators seeking to plunder the city and seize men, women, and children to be used as slaves or sold in slave markets. Herat, Iran (now part of Afghanistan), had such a perimeter wall
The attackers in Moscow were apparently paid by someone or some organization. They did not see fit to die for Allah as is the wont of fanatics. We should refrain from attributing the attacks to ISIS until evidence to the contrary surfaces
Iran and its allies are using a calibrated approach to increase temperatures in the Middle East until the water boils the American and Israeli ‘frogs’ to death. This is a timeless strategy in asymmetrical warfare. The Taliban used to say, ‘Americans have watches but we have the time.’ Time is on IRGC’s side.
Another bad idea by Europe and US. Tehran counters ‘maximum pressure’ with ‘maximum pressure.’ If G7/US go ahead and ban Iran Air, Iran will respond forcefully. Ukraine and Israel will pay a heftier price. Here’s why and how.
